Come Talk to us Introduce yourself (several times) and take us under your wing while introducing us around. Hang out with us for a few meetings and functions until we get things figured out. |

Get us involved Ask us for our help with chapter functions. Don't expect us to jump up and raise our hand at the first meeting, we may need some encouragement before we splash in with both feet. It's uncomfortable to walk up and volunteer with a group of strangers who have obviously been doing this for quite a while. It makes it easier for us to join if you ask, we would love to help and we are flattered when you ask. Once we've taken the plunge, give us some guidance until we sort things out. We don't know what to do and we really want to do it right! Tell us what you need, how you need it and why. |

Encourage us Share your experience and tips with us. If you see something that may be unsafe in our riding style please tell us (but be quiet about it and remember that you were once a newbie too). If you notice something that may make life easier on us, tell us, just pull us quietly away from the group and explain so we can learn. A few tips would be appreciated and who knows, we may be able to return the favor as well! |
